Our History

1950 - 1959

Purchase of the first truck to collect goods in BH

In 1950, Mr. Lafaete purchased his first truck, marking a major step in the expansion of the business. With it, the company began to source products from Belo Horizonte, diversifying its offering. However, it soon realized the need for a larger vehicle to meet the growing demand. The change to a larger truck was a bold investment, but essential for transporting coal and fruit to the Central Market of Belo Horizonte.

1967

Moving to Belo Horizonte

In search of new opportunities, the Lafaete family decided to move to Belo Horizonte. By selling the property in Serra do Cipó and exchanging the truck for an older model, the move was strategic to explore the city's potential.

1969

Purchase of the 1st truck in Belo Horizonte

In 1969, with his usual determination, Lafaete acquired an old truck, marking a new chapter in this story.

Returning to his origins, he began transporting fruit from Serra do Cipó to Mercado Central Novo, on Avenida Olegário Maciel, where he had invested in a stall.

1971-1980

Start of work with construction debris

Faced with the difficulties faced in the construction sector, Lafaete, always perceptive, identified a new opportunity: the collection of construction debris.

Over the years, the demand for his services grew, and Lafaete, with the help of his children who had already reached adulthood, managed to expand the business, acquiring new trucks and consolidating his position in the market.

1986

Purchase of the lot on Barão Homem de Melo Avenue

With the business prospering, the family invested in more trucks and acquired land on Avenida Barão Homem de Melo.

1988

Formalization of the company União Comercial Barão LTDA

1988 marked the beginning of the journey of União Comercial Barão LTDA, when the Lafaete family decided to formalize their business in the area of debris removal. In a challenging scenario, the company was able to diversify its activities, including a construction materials warehouse and a restaurant.

1991

Largest company in the rubble removal sector

The 1990s found União Comercial Barão LTDA at the height of the rubble removal market. However, the challenges of the time, such as the shortage of qualified labor, drove Lafaete to seek new solutions. The adoption of stationary dumpsters represented a milestone in the company's history, eliminating the need for helpers and paving the way for a new, more efficient and practical business model.

2000

Stationary buckets

In the 2000s, União Comercial Barão LTDA, always attentive to market demands, adapted its fleet to meet the growing demand for stationary dumpsters.

The company, a pioneer in the sector in its region, began this new phase practically at the same time as a major competitor from another state. However, Barão had a strategic advantage: a solid base of loyal customers.

2004

Accelerated growth

The rapid growth of 2004 was both a challenge and an opportunity for the company. Despite the obstacles faced, the organization demonstrated great resilience and adaptability. We are currently experiencing a phase of consolidation and evolution, where the structure is being redesigned to support even more sustainable growth.
